Sanwo-Olu’s Dilemma and the Burden of Lagos State
"Lagos is a shameful state with a lot of “promise”
because of the access to funds relative to other states. Lagos gets a lot of
unnecessary commendation and not enough scrutiny. The state of finance in the
state is both shameful and annoying. Government keeps quiet, citizens don’t
challenge them enough and the House is seriously complicit.

WANTED FOR NIGERIA: Good Leaders with Sacrificial Mien!
Nigeria is 59 while United States of America is 243 years old, Japan was founded on 11th February 660 BC, Russia is 1156 years old, France is 1600 years old and Germany over a thousand years not forgetting England which was founded in 927 AD. If you tell me there is nothing to celebrate in being 59, I will ask you using which metrics. Research about the country you hero worship today and tell me where they were at 59. Happy Independence to the patriotic citizens of the great nation called Nigeria".

A Sorry Tale of the South West of Nigeria
The Western
Region was a subdivision of the Federation of Nigeria until 1967 and its
capital was at Ibadan. It was established in 1939 under British rule as a
subdivision of the Southern Nigeria colony. Upon independence of Nigeria in
1960, it became one of the members of the Federation, along with the Eastern
Region and the Northern Region. In 1963, two provinces: Benin and Delta were
split from the region to form the new Mid-Western Region.

A Collage of Discussion on Corruption in Nigeria
This is not
really an article; rather, it is a collage of comments made by members of
Champions For Nigeria, an organisation whose members are dedicated to recognising,
commending, promoting and celebrating individuals and organisations that we
recognise as genuinely having the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians in mind,
and of which I am a proud member.

So that ASUU and Nigerian University System Will Rise Again by Gbolahan Gbadamosi and Akintokunbo A. Adejumo
This
piece arose from a conversation we had that dragged on and on. We have a
combined experience of and exposure to university education in Nigeria and an
active interest, including one of us being previously an academic staff of a
federal university for a substantial time and active ASUU activism.

Do We Just “Siddon” and Look?
The euphoria
over Nigeria’s experimentation in democracy is over. Realism is once again at
our doorstep with the unsettling questions about our future, as we move towards
another General Election to choose (some believe it is more selection, than
election) leaders who will be running our affairs for another four years.

This is not
an article, but an assortment of posts, comments and thoughts as expressed by a
group of very intellectual and well-informed Nigerians living, working and thriving
in the United Kingdom; a group to which I can say I am very proud to belong.
