POLITICIANS AT WORK (First published: 13 May 2011) Source Unkown

No matter what side of the AISLE you're on, THIS is FUNNY!
Judy Wallman, a professional genealogy researcher in southern California, was doing some personal work on her own family tree. She discovered that Senator Harry Reid's great-great uncle, Remus Reid, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. Both Judy and Harry Reid share this common ancestor.
The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows in Montana territory:
On the back of the picture Judy obtained during her research is this inscription: 'Remus Reid, horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'
So Judy e-mailed Senator Harry Reid for information about their great-great uncle.
Believe it or not, Harry Reid's staff sent back the following biographical sketch for her genealogy research:

UK Local Government and European Elections: A Lesson For Nigeria.

How many times have we in Nigeria been observing how elections are conducted in other countries we try to emulate or copy, yet we refuse to do the same in our own country for our own progress? I do not believe it cannot be done, but we all know why it is not being done for the past 50 years of our existence as a nation. The problem is mainly with both the leaders and the followers.

A President under Siege by His Own People

“If we can learn to be bold enough to restore the value of truth in our society, then we will have justice. Without truth, we cannot have justice” - Jerry Rawlings, ex-President of Ghana

“And without Justice and Truth, we cannot have a Democracy” – my own humble addition.

When the late ex-President Umar Yar’ Adua was in incommunicado and invisible, due to his failing or failed health for many months, probably even dead, and his wife and so-called kitchen cabinet were doing all they could to pull the wool over Nigerians’ eyes, through a risible and even ludicrous combination of subterfuge, criminal fraud, treasury looting, sycophancy, negligence, insensitivity, travesty of democracy and subjugation of the

The Many Havocs Of Dangote Business Empire

I am an admirer of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, MFR, GCON (born 10 April 1957, Kano, Nigeria) who owns the Dangote Group, which has interests in commodities, operating in Nigeria and several other countries in Africa, including Benin, Cameroon, Togo, Ghana, South Africa and Zambia. As of March 2014, Dangote had an estimated net worth of $25 billion USD and is ranked by Forbes Magazine as the 23rd richest person in the world and the richest man in Africa.
And of course, he has provided secured and long term employments for thousands of Nigerians and Africans too.

Corruption Has Caught Up With Us At Last – It is Inevitable

Corruption: Synonyms - Sleaze, dishonesty, exploitation, bribery, fraud, venality, vice.

Many of us think we know what corruption looks or is like – a state governor dipping his dirty fingers in the treasury and amassing ill-gotten wealth; an illicit deal carried out by politician; a government official or civil servant taking a cut in a deal; a policeman on the road harassing drivers, demanding and collecting bribes or a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria collecting bribes to push in a bill on the floor or during oversight functions. Corruption, however, is bigger and closer to home than this.

A test case of Morality and Reality

"Uncle, that your bastard friend you referred me to for a job asked me to sleep with him, if I must get the job!" ranted Vivian.

"You are rather the biggest fool, lazy idiot", her uncle replied.

"You expect me to clap for you and go fight my friend for asking you for just a short time on your waist in return for 350k monthly salary job, a car for your official upkeep? How many jobs has your hopeless,

LONDON EVENING STANDARD: COMMENT - Tuesday, 6 May 2014, page 15

"All this may cause Boko Haram to raise its game but it can only be an improvement on the record to date of the Nigerian government, whose useful actions to recover the girls since their kidnap three weeks ago amounts to precisely zero".

"The Nigerian president, the unhappily named Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday said he had no idea where the girls were but that everything possible was being done. Meanwhile, the Nigerian police briefly detained not someone connected with Boko Haram, oh no, but Naomi Mutah Nyadar, a woman involved with mass demonstrations calling on the Government to get a grip and do something"

BRING BACK OUR GIRLS, I SAY

BRING BACK OUR GIRLS

An Exercise in Futility and Time-wasting: Rescue Committee to find our Abducted Girls.

Rescue Committee: 26-man presidential panel to secure the release of 223 female students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

A rescue committee while human lives are at stake? What has happened to executive Presidential powers and authority?

We dont even know what has become or will become the fate of these young Nigerians girls; but our President thinks the formation of a committee will solve the problem. Absolutely inapt under this circumstance.

The Committee will sit for how many days, and then what? The report will ask the President to direct the military and security agencies to mount an operation against the abductors? The President already has that power to direct the military and the agencies without the need for a committee.
