Just stumbled on the above titled article you wrote, I think, sometime time in 2012, and I can't resist writing to give you kudos for a beautiful write-up that reflects the yearnings of those of us that were born and bred in Ibadan.(Though not 'son of the soil', as my parents are from Abeokuta and Awe).

I left Nigeria for Europe about twenty six years ago, and have since settled to live there, - but I do visit Nigeria about twice a year. I always look forward to the day my people will readily embrace modern positive changes similar to the ones I've been privileged to see in many major world cities you mentioned in your well written article. I hope and pray these changes we so dearly yearn for
will happen in our life time.

At the moment, you might sound like the proverbial lonely voice in the wilderness, but keep up the good work of creating awareness.

Yes, former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Dr Adebayo Alao-Akala “stormed” Ibadan, the Oyo State capital recently, 4^th September 2014, with thousands (I will actually say, hundreds) of his supporters (possibly rented-crowd or just plain deluded) driving crazily and in flagrant abuse of both traffic laws and public decency, in cars, motorcycles, vans and buses, waving flags (I even saw some with cutlasses and guns), accompanied by several police escorts all over Ibadan to declare his intention to return to the Government House, Agodi, Ibadan for a second time, or is it, third time?

The Jobless Politicians – A Big Cause for Concern

A former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Na’Abba, on Tuesday said he has been searching for job since he left the House in 2003. A member of the People’s Democratic Party, Na’Abba represented the Kano Municipal Federal Constituency of Kano State from 1999 to 2003 during the Olusegun Obasanjo regime.

Nuhu Ribadu and Short Memory

If there's something I admire (not really, but actually abhor) about our leaders and politicians, it is their propensity to have short memories and to quickly forget what they have said in public, written down in black and white by newspapers and journalists or recorded on video/TV.

As John Kenneth Galbraith, US economist and administrator said "Nothing is so admirable in politics as a short memory".
