The Pay of our Federal Legislators - the Truth is always eluding us.

I have always posited that the Truth is not known in this country. Nobody tells the Truth, nobody accepts it, nobody want to tell or hear the Truth, and if the Truth is told, nobody wants to hear it, or if they hear, it believe it.

Why is it so difficult for the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) to come out and tell us the real and exact salaries and allowances of our Senators and House of Representative members?

What exactly have they been paying over the past sixteen years to our federal legislators?

Why is the Federal Government of Nigeria, who allocates funds to the NASS or the RMAFC not able to tell us?

Are there no records, no paper trails, kept of the salaries and allowances of each legislator that have pass through what they call the "hallowed chambers" which is more like "shallow chambers"?

Why can't the partner organisations of the like Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC); The Joint Tax Board, The Commission on Ecological Fund, Local Government Joint Accounts Allocation Committee, National Council on Statistics, The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), The Federal Board of Inland Revenue (FIRS), The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and The Federal Ministry of Finance as listed on their website; and those in the know, like the Press, the labour unions, the Accountant General and Auditor General Offices, etc. tell us?

I suspect the Director General (past and present) and staff of that organisation, which is also a government agency, answerable to the Federal Government have always been colluding with the NASS to defraud this country in return for their own gratification.

Yes! RMAFC have been compromised and corrupt too, I have no doubt about that, otherwise, why are they rendering all kinds of false figures to the public, and though we will believe them?

No single Nigerian outside the NASS , RMAFC and the Presidency can tell you exactly how much our President, V-President, Governors, Deputy Governors, Ministers, Federal legislators, State legislators, LG Chairmen and the Councillors, etc earn. NOBODY. All that we come up with are inaccurate and speculative figures and conjectures. These are in themselves very dangerous to the legislators themselves, and to the federal government.

Why can't we get the truth, the facts, and the information? Why is it so difficult in Nigeria to get to the Truth?

Why aren't we applying the Freedom of Information Bill or Act?

The Truth Always!!!!!!!! And it will out one day.
