#RicePolitics and #StomachInfrastructure - Everybody's catching the Plague, or else..............At first I did not believe it, so I stopped and got down from my rugged truck. And there it was, at Ansar-ul-deen area of Ososami Street, Ibadan. Just at my backyard.
A "Re-Elect Governor Ajimobi" campaign van was parked, and some guys were off-loading bags of rice with, you guessed it, our amiable, hard-working picture and name on the bags of rice. They were dropping them for someone in a house, but not distributing to the public.
If I had been told this by some people, I will round on them and say it is impossible. But there I saw it with my own korokoro eyes. I wanted to take pictures but the looks on the guys surrounding the truck readily discouraged me.
Well, I know the Ekiti sold their kingdom for bags of rice, and it was the beginning of wisdom for other APC states, but I would be the last man to believe Brother Abiola Ajimobi will also let himself be panicked and descend into rice-sharing and succumb to the fear of the PDP overwhelming him and voting him outta the Government House, Agodi.
I know some people might say I am not facing the reality on the ground or that I am trying to practice "oyinbo politics" or being naive and expecting a change that will never come, but whoever advised the Governor that this is the way to get re-elected needs to have his/her head re-examined.
Sir, you don't have to give me a bag of rice for me to vote for you; I will anyway; but why don't you rely on what you have achieved and done for the people of Oyo State so far? Or do you think it would still not be enough to be appreciated to get a second term?
