Political Prostitution and Hypocrisy at its Best (or Worst)

What a sorry and disgusting state of affairs for our democracy in this country!
Mr Olagunsoye Oyinlola (the forever-playing golf lover, who ruined Osun State completely as PDP governor for almost 8 years before the court ejected him) has now dumped the PDP,( the party that made and then messed him up), and joined the ruling party in Osun State, the APC (the same party that fought a very bitter court battle to see him removed as governor 4 years ago).

See the irony?
And of course, the APC will welcome Mr Oyinlola with open arms and with fanfare and he will be transformed immediately to a "progressive" .
This is not only the height of political prostitution, but also that of hypocrisy, lack of ideology, small-mindedness and self-centeredness of our political machinery.
With a very crucial gubernatorial election coming up in barely a week, the timing is very poor and will be detrimental to the fortunes of Mr Rauf Aregbesola, a governor that has performed much better than most of his peers, what with the unhidden cunning and viciousness with which the PDP is determined to install the despicable and thuggish Mr  Iyiola Omisore as governor.
It will be that phrase, "no permanent friend or enemy in politics" that may, or will certainly be the undoing of the APC in Osun State. Yes, that is the saying, but shouldn't we still be discerning with the people we sleep with politically?
In Nigeria, we have no principles and political ideologies, and that is what makes this inane phrase untenable and unacceptable. If ideologies are involved, we may forgive them running from one party to the other, but in our dear upside-down and totally compromised country, it is all about money, position and nothing else.
We, the ordinary people of this country, will of course continue to be the real victims and sufferers for all these idiocy, greed, corruption and selfishness.
