CONGRATULATIONS TO NIGERIA FOR EMPOWERING THEMSELVES IN THEIR DEMOCRACY

To me, this 2015 Election is not about Buhari or Jonathan, or APC and PDP,or whatever party. It is about the ordinary Nigerians knowing that in a democracy, their votes count (people used to say, why the heck am I voting anyway, the politicians will always rig and my vote doesn't mean a damn thing) and power lay in their hands.

If the president, or any governor or other public office holders do not do as we want in the next 4 years, and make life better for us, they will meet us at the Polling Unit and we have the vote/power to get rid of them. This is what I am happy about. Political leaders should do more. They serve us; we don't serve them.

I will admit Mr Jonathan has done his best as he thinks appropriate. What we have told him and his government and party is that they have not done enough, and we deserve more than we have been getting in the last 16 years of PDP, nay, in the last 50 years, and Nigerians have had enough of insensitive, corrupt, profligate politicians send us to our early death.

This is our message to every political office holder and seeker. If Mr Buhari and the APC fail us, and betray our trust in them, they will answer to us in 2019, or even before.

When you consider how much trillions of Naira was spent by the incumbent government in trying to get re-elected, you will weep for this country. They totally ignored the wants and needs of their people, for narrow and selfish interests. Is this OK? Yet, some people support this waste and insensitivity.

It is simply inhuman and inhuman. It is genocide.

This is the lesson we should learn from this election exercise in 2015.
